Forever Giving Foundation Supports Direct Relief's Venezuela Earthquake Response

Communities across northern Venezuela are facing significant challenges as they recover from recent earthquakes. The disasters caused building collapses, power disruptions, displacement and urgent medical needs, placing additional strain on a healthcare system that was already facing substantial challenges.

To help support those affected, the Forever Giving Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to Direct Relief to assist with its emergency response efforts in Venezuela.

Through this grant, the foundation is helping support Direct Relief's efforts to provide emergency medical aid, medicine, medical supplies, hygiene items, and other health-related resources to communities affected by the earthquakes. The funding will also assist with logistics, partner coordination and other response activities as needs continue to evolve in the months ahead.

Currently, Direct Relief is working with its healthcare partners in earthquake-affectedcommunities to assess urgent needs and deliver critical medical aid where it can be moved safely and effectively. The organization's response focuses on supporting health care providers as they care for people impacted by the earthquakes, helping maintain continuity of care for vulnerable patients, and providing essential health resources needed during both the immediate emergency and the longer-term recovery period.

Direct Relief's response began immediately following the earthquakes and will continue as health care partners identify urgent and ongoing needs. The organization has extensive experience responding to major disasters around the world, including earthquakes in Turkey, Haiti, Nepal and Japan.

Earthquakes often create serious and ongoing health risks, including traumatic injuries, wound infections, displacement-related illnesses and interruptions in care for individuals managing chronic health conditions. In the aftermath of a disaster, healthcare facilities may face increased demand while also dealing with damaged infrastructure, supply shortages, power disruptions and other access challenges.

The Forever Giving Foundation remains committed to supporting organizations that provide meaningful assistance to communities affected by natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.
